Thank you for celebrating Change: A Guide to Relationship Success

Dear Friends,

Thank you to everyone who was able to join me for the launch of my newest book, Change: A Guide to Relationship Success. Your presence, support, and willingness to celebrate this important milestone with me were truly appreciated.

During my remarks, I promised that I would follow up with a call to action. This is that call.

After years of using my voice in service to a corporation, completing my doctoral studies gave me an opportunity to think more deeply about how I could use my experience, education, and voice to help people navigate life from a better position of self-autonomy, greater self-worth, and personal responsibility.

That commitment ultimately led me to create EVOKE101, a private practice in Washington, DC, focused on helping individuals, couples, and groups pursue greater success through mental health and wellness, professional development, and relationship and family practices.

My doctoral research, A Phenomenological Study of Social Justice Disparities as Described by African American Public Policy Makers, examined the experiences of African American public policymakers, including mayors, members of Congress, and other public officials. Their stories helped me understand how social justice disparities can resonate throughout our communities and affect the mental health and well-being of people as they navigate life every day.

That experience strengthened my commitment to creating a platform that provides supportive ways for people to approach and navigate life from a healthier position of self-awareness, self-worth, and autonomy.

That is why I created the Change series.

The first book, Change: A Guide to Achieving Life Goals, was intentionally designed to encourage individuals to think differently about their lives, their goals, their beliefs, their support systems, and the pathways they can take toward greater success.

The second book, Change: A Guide to Relationship Success, addresses another important part of our lives: our relationships. How we approach relationships, how we communicate, how we understand ourselves and others, and how we respond to challenges can have a profound impact on our lives.

For us as African Americans, relationships can present unique challenges, but they can also be a tremendous source of strength, resilience, connection, and healing.

These books are not simply about reading. They are about empowering people to think, reflect, and change.

But the books are only part of the conversation.

I also invite you to watch and share my free On the Couch podcast, where real people share their personal stories and experiences. We talk about hard times, healing, relationships, mental wellness, resilience, and the ways people learn to protect their peace.

I encourage you to listen to these stories—not simply for entertainment, but as opportunities to learn. Every story offers something that can help us think differently about our own lives and develop better mental hygiene practices together.

My call to action is simple:

Share this information with at least 10 people you know. Ask them to join this campaign of learning. Buy a book. Watch an episode. Start a conversation. Talk about mental wellness. Talk about relationships. Talk about protecting your peace. And most importantly, encourage someone to believe that change is possible.

If each of us reaches just ten people, we can begin creating a much larger conversation about how we approach life, relationships, healing, and our own sense of worth.

Thank you again for being part of this journey and for celebrating Change: A Guide to Relationship Success with me.

The conversation doesn't end with the book launch. This is where it begins.

With gratitude,

Larry
